The Daikin One+ thermostat includes built-in temperature and humidity sensors as well as the ability to control the indoor units mode (auto/heat/cool/off), set points (dual or single set points), fan speeds and lover position (on wall mounted and ceiling cassette units). Error messages and maintenance notifications are also displayed on the thermostat. Rather than just an error code, these messages are displayed in an easy to read, natural language format (English, French or Spanish). All of this can be done either at your thermostat or anywhere, anytime from your tablet, smart phone or computer! The Daikin One+ Thermostat also features Over-the-Air (OTA) software updates. Any updates that Daikin makes, or new features that are added, will automatically be “pushed” straight to your Daikin One+ Thermostat.

In terms of energy management, the Daikin One+ features Intelligent Energy Management options. You can create home/away schedules, as well as weekday/weekend schedules. Additionally, the thermostat has a geo-fencing function which works in conjunction with the location services on your smart phones. The system can switch between the Home and Away modes based on the location of the cell phones in the geo-fencing radius. The system will switch to the Away mode based on the cell phone location of the last person to leave the geo-fenced area and to the Home mode when the first person returns to the geo-fenced radius.

The thermostat also includes two (dry) outputs for auxiliary devices such as an auxiliary heater, humidifier or dehumidifier.

The Daikin DTST-ONE-ADA-A is the newest Smart Thermostat offered by Daikin. It will work with most Daikin single and multi-zone indoor units. Included with the thermostat is all of the installation hardware required for the thermostat as well as the items needed for the thermostat and the indoor unit to “talk” to each other. These items include a translation adaptor (specifically designed for the ductless indoor units to communicate with the thermostat), mounting plate, adhesive tape and mounting plate (depending on your installation you will only need one of these options) and an S21 cable which connects to your indoor unit.

Currently, the DTST-ONE-ADA-A will only work with Daikin indoor units equipped with an S21 connector. Typically, the translation adapter is installed on the wall directly behind the indoor unit but it can also be installed discreetly on the side or top of the unit. The translation adaptor is connected to the indoor unit and the thermostat is connected to the translation adaptor. (Thermostat wire – 18AWG/4 conductor – is not included.) Additionally, The Daikin One+ is not compatible with other wired or wireless controllers – including remotes. Any wired controllers that are connected need to be disconnected.

Many Daikin single zone and multi zone indoor units are compatible with the Daikin One+ Smart Thermostat without an added adaptor. These include:

• Emura Wall Units (FTXR**TVJU)
• Slim Duct Concealed Ceiling Units (CDXS/FDXS**LVJU)
• Floor Mount Units (FVXS**NVJU)
• Wall Mount Units (FTX/FTK**NMVJU with required interface adaptor; CTXS/FTXS**LVJU; FTX**UVJU; FTXG**HVJU)

FTX/FTK**NMVJU indoor units require an additional adaptor in order to communicate with the Daikin One+ Thermostat. The 9,000 and 12,000 BTU FTX and FTK**NMVJU units require the interface adaptor KRP067A41E and the 15,000, 18,000 and 24,000 BTU FTX/FTK**NMVJU units require interface adaptor KRP980B2E. These interface adaptors need to be installed and connected between the indoor unit and the translation adaptor giving them the S21 connector required to operate.

You will need a dedicated thermostat for each indoor unit you want to control.
